I feel so privileged to have known iris. Right from the outset when I met her in 1985, Iris accepted me as part of the family. I shared many happy family meals with Iris, Reg and Ken and alwaysremember her laughter and sense of fun, her positivity about life. Many years later when we caught up again, it was as though we'd never been apart. I always felt a better person after spending time with Iris; the world was a better place because of her and her sense of fun and goodness will live on in our hearts for ever. Rest in peace dear Iris.

I have known Iris for more than 40 years, since I met Ken when we were both young men. I was always struck by her friendliness and hospitality, and I always received a warm welcome whenever I came to the house. Later on, she was very kind to me during a difficult time and her support helped me a great deal. Her sunny disposition is perhaps what I will remember most - she was such an easy and pleasant person to spend time with, and I know this helped sustain her during much of her illness.
The world is a poorer place for not having Iris Mears in it - she was indeed much loved and I will miss her.
